Nature and Wild Horses at Dartmoor National Park, UK

The wild life at Dartmoor Nation Park, UK is so raw and outstanding. Capturing animals chilling in the meadows with the coldest of wind and the widest view over the horizon… I was in love. The hillside landscape, my cameras at hand and a few hours to go around taking photographs. My kind of relaxing holiday.

Photographing Wildlife at Dartmoor National Park was actually not in plan for the day – but it was such a glorious unexpected detour on our plan!

Last summer, I did a small road trip to Cornwall and Devon with an organized Italian tour. We had planned to go horse riding at Dartmoor National Park and we did it. It was an incredible experience, the highlight of the day. I love horses and it is so therapeutic for me. So they already made my day, my horse was named Genie, like Genie in a bottle, and the instructors we had, were fantastic.

We went to all female-run horse stable (I really love the #farmHer hashtag on a girl working there) and we trotted one hour around Dartmoor National Park. It was surreal and so beautiful, my idea of summer in the English countryside.

After that, we got back in the car to continue to our next stop. But in between, it was already launch time, so we decided to stop in the middle of the park.

There I was not hungry, and I decided to wander by myself and my two cameras along the path in the park. The grass was so soft, there were sheep, other animals and other people walking. So, I went on and I found this group of wild horses and their little ones.

I couldn’t be more happy. I got close and started taking pictures. And that made my day even more. So here, you can see the images of the day. One of my favorite alongside visiting Tintagel.
