Autumn Walks in Brighton and Hove

A walk for a cup of coffee

Let’s take by taking a walk towards a good cup of coffee or tea. Since it is dark really soon, the best option is to look for a small cafe to sit down to. Forget about Starbucks or Caffe Nero – not Costa, I am still a Costa girl – and wander in the lanes to get to Sugardough Cafe. I remember the great pastry selection and the brunch menu. I did eat once a salmon piece with avocado, rosty potatoes and other vegetables. It was delicious.

A walk across the North Lanes

The North Lane

Brighton is famous for the Lanes. But did you know there are actually two Lanes? The North Laine is full of grunge, vintage, hippie, rock shops and restaurants. It is also full of tattoos and piercings shops – quite alternative scene – and you will meet the craziest people wandering around. I spent a lot of time there – if you are a photographer you need to stop by.

From the train station to the seafront

If you go to Brighton via train, I highly suggest you to walk in that area because the graffiti scene is amazing. Behind the train station there is the original cops kissing graffiti from Bansky but overall the graffiti is an always changing art.

From outside the train station walk all the way down to the seafront to arrive in the real pumping heart of Brighton.

A walk along the Seafront

Once you arrive to the seafront, you will have the Brighton Pier in front of you – must see location for real. My suggestion for a windy walk is to take the right and go towards Hove for those beautiful white residences.

Once near Hove you will have an amazing bandstand on your left from which you can observe the sea. Keep walking and you will arrive to the famous colourful Hove beach houses.

The Brighton seafront walk at sunset – how amazing?

Something I need to say out loud is the light at sunset near the seafront. I have never seen such pastely pink-orange sunsets as in Brighton. The sky lights up, the seagulls don’t stop being annoying but the chill air and the smell of salt, all together make Brighton so beautiful to discover on foot.
