How many times have we (women-ladies-girls) complained about men fashion being so much better then the women collection? With me, it’s pretty often maybe because I love simplicity, oversize fitting and structured pieces or maybe because I expect too much from woman brands. Either way, when Dresslily* got in touch with me to review a few pieces from their site, I also asked my friend if he wanted to join in. He is way too crazy to have said no, hence here I am talking you through what we have ordered.
THE HE-LOOK
what he is wearing: Dresslily* Cardigan / Just Cavalli tee (old) / Pull&Bear jeans / Cafe Noir Boots (similar)
Since the cold season, Fede wanted something cosy that would actually keep him warm. The long chunky knit cardigan was absolutely perfect for this request. We ordered an XL because the shoulders are a little tight and this cardigan can be also worn as a jacket, so it needs a bit of space underneath. Extra points for pockets and the big hood.
The only downside is how static it is. I am warning you but apart from this small detail, it works really good.
He/we then styled it with this jeans of a light blue wash and a pair of dark brown suede boots. Underneath he is wearing a colourful tee but you can barely notice it.
And how it is time to get back to me!
THE SHE-LOOK
First thing first…you might notice a change. Another. Yes. If you are new to the blog, well… I am brunette turned platinum that became silver that is now pink. My fault this time. I have a bunch of Bleach London colours I want to try out and here is the first attempt. Following there will be the peach color (I am trying really hard to get this shade!) and a mermaid/baby blue.
what I am wearing: Dresslily dress* / Topshop Jeans Jacket (old) / H&M Heart shaped sunnies / Holographic Vans Old Skool
Instead I chose something colourful, totally not suitable for this weather, reason for the necessity of adding a jeans jacket with faux shearling inside to the outfit. Anyway the dress will be perfect for the coming months since it is very loose and very colourful. Moreover it is super light and made of cotton leaving it super soft.
Then I added my new pair of Vans with whom was love at first sight. They do sparkle but not in a glittery way. They are called the holographic Vans for a reason. Love.
End of the story: it was freezing cold shooting these two looks for both of us but it was fun. If you notice how red my hands are in the pictures..that’s a good scale of how chilly it was. Nevertheless I am sure this will only be the beginning of me adding men fashion to 35mminstyle. Next time I hope to create more of a storyline – we shall see if I manage to do it.
For now, let me know if would like more posts like this one? Yay or no for men fashion?
xoxo Cate + Fede
