Wintering: the beauty of the silent countryside in Winter

There is such beauty in silence. When the winter months come in, the countryside landscape stands still. And as an entrepreneur in love with Nature, this is such a great teaching for my business.

Wintering: the beauty of silence and stillness

In the past couple of years, I have started my online business and every winter break, I never really stopped. It was a beautiful moment to work while everything else (and everyone else was on silence!) – this year instead, I finally learned the power of stillness.

And it was the countryside in winter that taught me so.

I have decided to stop and to detox from the digital world: this Xmas time I only read. Purposely. I couldn’t do anything else. I was excited only of one thing: reading.

The True Meaning of Fertile Void

So I listened to my body and my intuition. From there, I started to notice how my nervous system craved stillness, silence and the fertile void without being scared of it. Without being scared of my business stopping without my constant presence.

For the first time, I understood the true meaning of Fertile Void – a feminine silence – that comes from within, instead of being forced by some outside circumstances (xmas holiday, sickness, flu, anything).

This part is fundamental for the success of any mystical businesses. Being in sync with nature means respecting our own nature.

Photographing Silence and Stillness in the Winter Countryside

So, I stopped. I silenced my presence on social media to the bare minimum and I went back to analog: reading books, photographing nature and spending time with my family doing board games, watching movies and drinking lots of tea.

In this silence I noticed the little things. I savoured the crispy iced leaves and trees. And in doing all of this, I received a great teaching for business:

The real luxury nowadays is stillness, a slow peaceful life and the quiet softness.

Being able to balance it with moments of inspired actions, is the key to build and evergreen and sustainable business.

Wintering in Business is essential to long lasting vision

As I have seen in my mentoring work with clients, so many founders and creators say they are okay with slowing down and stay in the Void, but truly they don’t embody it. Here is the difference: you can’t just read of this in books, you need to experience it.

The countryside in winter is showing me how being able to really slow down, truly stay in the stillness void and be peaceful by not doing (without feeling guilty) is the threshold to create something profound and long-lasting.

Every year Wintering is essential to nurture the soil in order to bloom happily in spring.
