For the series On my Wander/list: Indonesia. I am talking of the South-East Asia area where one my friend has a house in Lombok, one of the places hit by the recent earthquake.
On My Wander/list: Indonesia
Reasons to visit Indonesia and Lombok
One of my oldest friend has been staying in Lombok, Indonesia for quite a long time now, more or less since she was around 7 yo. Every summer she, her family and friends go there and almost spend one month relaxing in the area. I admit I was asked to go a few times but apart from the flight price, my biggest problem is how long it takes to arrive there. There is no direct flight but you have to change 2 or 3 in order to get there and I really have some problems with that. Read the reasons why I don’t travel solo anymore to understand my other issues with traveling.
Of course, it’s one of the places I would love to visit and the stories of my friend are amazing. First of all, I remember her saying how beautiful is the hospitality of the locals. Second come the places: sunsets to die for, the wild nature, places to hike, beaches to discover with the softest sand and a deep blue sea.
Help People Victims of the Earthquake in Indonesia
These above are all my friend’s photos. Unfortunately more or less one week ago there were a few earthquakes with center in the Lombok area. Luckily my friend wasn’t there (she was to leave in a few days actually) but her friends who live there had some issues. Some of them lost their houses, since I was also witness of an violent earthquake, I want to help by spreading the cause.
Below pictures of what have happened near Lombok.
My friend is currently raising money to help rebuilt a temporary house and to help making them start again with some support. We almost reached our goals. So please do help me and share this!
The island of Lombok, Indonesia, was hit by three devastating earthquakes: July 29, magnitude 6.4; August 5 magnitude 7; August 9th magnitude 6.2. Over 390 people have lost their lives. Hundreds of thousands of people no longer have a home, including the family of my dear friend Habibah. I ask you to help her and her family to rebuild the house where they lived in 9: 7 adults and 2 children.
