My second post on the wander/list series covers Cape Town, South Africa. Aren’t you curious to discover such a new city?
On my wander/list: 24 Hours in Cape Town
Okay I should subtitle this, My ideal 24 hours. I have never been to Cape Town and I am dying to visit the city. After last week post on my wander/list about Amsterdam, this week is time to write about Cape Town.
I don’t know where my interest for this city has started but the appeal is huge. I will try to point out the reasons why I want to visit so badly.
South Africa is a mystery to me, I don’t have friends who have been there but I have seen photos and oh my goodness! there is everything. The seaside is rough, windy and wild and the mountains are high, important and spectacular. The city itself then is so vibrant, full of positive energies and it has some uniqueness I can’t define.
I have heard that a lot of creatives go to Cape Town. The city vibes are one of the things that intrigues me the most. I would go around wandering throughout cafes, markets, independent shops, surf locations and then get lost as it always happen no matter how. Do I have to mention that my analog camera would be my third eye? I don’t think so.
I admit it. Youtubers have shown me the appeal of Cape Town so many times. I have been following Ben Brown‘s adventures in South Africa and the place is just unbelievable. Then Nick Miller is from there and through his Snapchat stories I have seen a behind-the-scenes of the ordinary life of Cape Town and my interest has doubled.
This is the weird side of me. The Zef subculture is from there. This year I’ve become obsessed with the music duo Die Antwoord which is not a typical blogger choice of music – also it is just a coincidence that my hair looks like Yolandii’s hairstyle. Anyway, they always talk about the Zef lifestyle; it is who they are. I more or less understand what they express and I am intrigued to know more about it going directly to their home place.
So these are the reasons why I would spend 24 hours somewhere, and that somewhere is Cape Town. Honestly 24h are not enough but in an ideal world, everything is possible.
* This time I used photos from Ben Brown‘s main social channels. He is very talented and a great human being. Obviously check him out if you don’t know him already.
